A large crowd rushed to help the injured man, thought to be in his late twenties, by providing emergency first aid after the stabbing on Fore Street, Edmonton, at around 4.30pm.

The victim was rushed to hospital, where his condition is currently unknown.

A Met spokesperson said a 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He was taken to a north London hospital for treatment with non life-threatening injuries. Officers did not say how he was believed to have sustained his injury.
