Britain's Got Talent viewers say young singer is 'cross between Charlotte Church and Aled Jones'

Britain's Got Talent has seen its second golden buzzer as Simon Cowell gave up his golden vote for a 13-year-old singer viewers have dubbed a cross between 'Charlotte Church and Aled Jones'.

Simon's golden buzzer comes in the second episode after new judge Bruno Tonioli gave his golden buzzer to dance group Ghetto Kids in the series opener. So impressed was Simon by Malakai Bayoh singing Pie Jesu, the song that shot Charlotte Church to fame back in the 1990s, that he called his rendition 'golden.'

“There’s only one word I can use to describe that… golden!” Simon said, sending Malakai straight through to the live semi-finals. He told Malakai: “One of the best voices I think I’ve ever heard, this is amazing.”

The praise kept coming as another tweeted: "We're only two shows in, and the Golden Buzzers are already so sensational. That lad was utterly outstanding. He's like a new Aled Jones."
