Boxer Ryan Garcia Tests Positive For Ostarine, Faces Potential Suspension

Ryan Garcia tested positive for Ostarine after his fight with Devin Haney.

Boxer Ryan Garcia has recently been in the spotlight after testing positive for the performance-enhancing substance Ostarine. The Voluntary Anti-Doping Association sent a letter to all concerned parties, revealing that Garcia's tests conducted before his fight against Devin Haney showed traces of Ostarine. The results were disclosed after the fight had taken place.

Garcia, who secured an upset victory over Haney, has the option to request testing of his B-sample within the next 10 days. Additionally, his A-sample also displayed the presence of 19-norandrosterone, although this finding is yet to be confirmed.

In response to the allegations, Garcia vehemently denied any wrongdoing, stating, 'Everybody knows that I don't cheat. Never taken a steroid... I don't even know where to get steroids... I barely take supplements. Big lies, I beat his ass.'

During the fight, Garcia knocked down Haney three times, ultimately winning by majority decision. However, the outcome of the match is now subject to change pending the results of the B-sample test. It is uncommon for a B-sample to return negative once the A-sample has tested positive.

Furthermore, Garcia faced another setback as he failed to make weight for the WBC 140-pound title fight, coming in at 143.2 pounds. Despite his victory, Haney retained his junior welterweight champion title.
