BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood floored by dog during live broadcast from Wimbledon

They always say that animals and live TV don't go hand in hand, and BBC Breakfast's Carol Kirkwood is one person who would definitely agree. The weather presenter has been floored for a second time by a dog, this time during a live broadcast from Wimbledon.

On Tuesday (July 4), Ray the Springer Spaniel ran off, dragging the former Strictly Come Dancing contestant behind. At one point all you could see were her feet. It was all while she was trying to update viewers with the latest weather report for day two of the competition.

Carol started by telling studio presenter Jon Kay and Sally Nugent: "This is Ray, he is going to be five in August and he is one of the search dogs here. Whilst we have been waiting for you to come to us, he has been sat there like a gentleman just looking ahead at his trainer and just being perfect. I don't even know what the weather is today, I am so distracted." You can keep up to date with the latest TV and showbiz news by signing up to the newsletter here.

But it all went wrong after the weather update as Ray spotted something behind the camera and raced off, taking Carol with him as she shouted: "Oh no, oh no".

As Jon and Sally checked she was OK, Carol laughed, saying: "I can't believe that happened again."

She was referring to a broadcast from the Chelsea Flower Show in 2021 when was was also swept off her feet by an eager dog.
