Amazon Prime adds another major sports property to its lineup

A few days after Amazon (AMZN) -) announced that it would be airing international cricket competitions in Australia, the company has announced another deal with a sports league, this time in the United States.

Prime Video has partnered with Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on a multiyear deal that will bring the boxing promotion that features over 150 active boxers. The promotion has presented some massive fights since its inception in 2015, including Canelo Alvarez vs Jermell Charlo and Gervonta "Tank" Davis vs Ryan Garcia.

The deal will have Prime Video distribute PBC's pay-per-view (PPV) events starting in 2024, the first of which is expected in March. PBC's events were previously broadcast on Showtime Sports, which Paramount+ announced that it is shutting down at the end of the year.

Aside from PPV events, Prime Video will also be streaming different "PBC Championship Boxing" events that include different matchups that could also showcase rising stars. The two sides will also work on other sports content including behind-the-scenes docuseries and airing of live weigh-ins.
